The commission for labour was set up by catholic bishops conference of india in 1971 to the recommendation of the national seminar “Church in India Today”(1966) and the deliberation of the Roman Synod(1971)”Justice in the World”.

Mission:

Facilitate, communicate and educate the workers and leaders on labour rights, duties responsibilities and welfare as per the teachings of the Gospel and the Church. It leads to the realisation Liaison Assistance to labour movements, institutions and initiatives recognized by Labour Commission.

Function as the inspirational body of church on workers’ related matters
